Flexible Therapy for Girls & Young Women

Sports, clubs, friendships, and family are all part of healthy development. Rather than seeing these commitments as barriers, I view them as opportunities for growth that we can integrate into therapy for teens.

Together, we’ll create a therapy plan that works with your family’s schedule.

My flexible approach may include:

• Teletherapy and online therapy
• Walk and Talk Therapy
• Phone and/or text check-ins
• Flexible session lengths
• A uniquely flexible scheduling/ rescheduling policy

Common areas of support include:

• Anxiety, depression and overwhelm
• Stress, burnout and perfectionism
• Self-esteem, confidence, and identity
• Relationships and family conflict
• Grief and life transitions
• Pressures faced by female athletes
• Misophonia
• Support for parents of teens/young women

Therapy should support your life—not ask you to put it on hold

Treating Misophonia

Misophonia is a relatively newly understood condition, and research is still in its nascent stages. For people who experience it, though, the reactions to everyday sounds can be very real and intense—sometimes making school, family life, friendships, and everyday situations feel especially difficult.

My approach combines psychoeducation and relaxation training (PRT) with skills from evidence-based therapies like the Unified Protocol for Children and Adolescents (UP-C/A).

While there isn’t a well-established evidence-based treatment specifically for misophonia yet, these approaches draw on therapies that have strong evidence for people manage emotional and physical responses across a range of concerns. My goal is to help teens and young women feel more confident and flexible so that misophonia has less impact on their everyday lives and relationships.
