Therapy for busy teens

(and for teens who want to be busy)

Parents of teens: are you finding it difficult to schedule therapy around their busy calendar?

Let’s build a therapy plan that works, for you and your teen.

My services are personalized and structured to meet the needs and schedule of you and your teenager.

I encourage teens to engage in all aspects of life and integrate this philosophy into our work together –  going soccer practice, trying out for a play, or joining a club enhances social skills, builds a support network, and develops resilience – this is part of their treatment, rather than a barrier to it.

As such, I utilize various platforms for communication (including phone, ‘walk and talk’, video and texting), session times that can vary in length, and a uniquely flexible cancellation policy so that your teen can prioritize all meaningful aspects of their life.

For Teens in California, Massachusetts, and Vermont

I draw from modalities including CBT/ACT, narrative, and psychodynamic interventions to help your teen navigate this complicated world. I address the unique challenges and pressures faced by female athletes. Therapy with teens might address:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • stress at home
  • relationship struggles
  • grief/life transitions
  • executive functioning/time management
  • managing trauma
  • dealing with antisemitism
  • self-care (such as screen time usage and sleep habits)
  • self-esteem

We might meet regularly (at least at first) by phone or video. Sometimes I might nudge young adults toward activities and interactions, and we can stay in touch through text messaging during outings and interactions

What People Are Saying

Alyse was very available and helped get me through a bunch of complicated situations with friends and my parents.”

“My daughter and I were at a stalemate. She was always grounded and I was always grounding her. We basically hated each other. Alyse helped me understand what was happening in our dynamic and offered direct ideas to change things up. Her humor, ability to engage my daughter, and her flexibility in scheduling were instrumental”

Our 19 year old neurodivergent daughter was really isolated during her first year away at college – basically never leaving her dorm room. We linked her with Alyse, who provided just the right level of support/prodding with a lot of follow up to get her out of her room and into the world. Her approach, availability, and human-ness played a huge role in [our daughter’s] success.

Alyse taught me how to stop enabling my 15 year old daughter. In turn [my daughter] was able to step up and take responsibility for herself and her actions. Alyse held her accountable so I could feel okay taking a step back. My daughter has become more responsible and I decreased my nagging – there’s so much more peace between us!

“My daughter’s sleep habits and screen time usage were insane and she was dismissive and hostile when I pointed out ways this was impacting her. Alyse was able to have these conversations with her in a way that I wasn’t. Alyse educated her on brain health and mental health, and my kid listened. I wish I could keep Alyse in my pocket. Seriously.
